Alquimia
|
Singer,
composer, multi-instrumentalist and sonic innovator ALQUIMIA
has brought a rare Aztec ambient
influence to world, electronic, and experimental vocal music, using her voice,
piano, synthesisers, pre-Columbian flutes, pre-Hispanic percussion and
electronics.
Born in Mexico, now based in London, and singing in
various languages including Spanish, English, and Nahuatl, she also uses her
voice to create multilayered choirs and electronic vocal soundscapes -
Described as
"an ethereal chorale of great beauty" by Audion (UK), and as
"intense- transcending ambient barriers"..."musical nourishment
for the soul" by New Age Voice.
Her influences are widely varied, ranging from Mexican
pre-Hispanic music, Celtic, ambient & world, to progressive, mediaeval and
classical music.
"Her multilayered voice effects are unique; coupled
with ambient/experimental electronics, she builds the musical scores to
incredible climaxes - highly recommended..."
(SEQUENCES, UK).
"...moving between ambient,
improvised and prog rock...her ethereal vocal technique underscored by heady
electronica and a sensuous sonic palette, at once exotically seductive and
disarmingly eerie"
(LONDON MUSICIAN’S COLLECTIVE UK).
