Played, broadcast and recorded with several London-based bands including a quartet with Paul Lytton, the London Jazz Composers Orchestra, and the Eddie Prévost Band. Initiated a Brixton-based workshop, from which emerged Coherents, described as “One of the most formidable improvising units of the 80's” (Brian Morton, The Wire). With Chris Green, organised Room for Improvised Music, the weekly venue and festival. Stayed quiet in the 1990s. In 2002 played in the Akemi Kuniyoshi Group with Akemi Kuniyoshi, Paul Moss and Lukax Santana, in a widely applauded engagement at St. Cyprian's Church, in central London.
